    Product feature
    1. A word from the product manager
We have redesigned this boot for the 2017-2018 season by improving its support and clamping system: addition of a rip-tab on the tibia to eliminate the gap between the tibia and the tongue and to concentrate lace tightening on the instep. We always listen to our customers' feedback, and for this 2018/19 winter season we decided to adjust the position of the boot's loops to better support the foot.
    2. Fast Lock 2-zone tightening system
This boot's easy-tightening system was inspired by a snowboard instructor's comment: "we have to do away with traditional laces that need to be tied up, I spend too much time beginning my lessons by tightening my clients' laces" 1. Quick and powerful tightening concentrated at the instep, to support the foot. 2. A rip-tab on the tibia to eliminate the gap between the tibia and the tongue.
    3. Boot flex/stiffness
The introduction of the soft flex was a deliberate decision. It is comfortable to use, reduces physical fatigue and allows you to fully enjoy your day on the snow. It also offers the advantage of helping beginners adopt a good position on their board: ankles are flexed to avoid stiff legs. You have to react quickly when you're snowboarding, so you need to have bend in your knees. Beginning with a boot that is too stiff puts you at a disadvantage.
    4. Heel support: level 1 liner
Foot support is essential when snowboarding, to be able to correctly steer your board (foot in the liner, and liner in the boot). The level 1 liner applies 5 concepts: 1. Thermoformable liner alone, at home 2. Comfort Heel Pad ankle foam 3. "3-point" liner fastening 4. Hook & Loop Link between the liner and boot 5. Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep: support and comfort.
    5. 1. Self-thermoforming liner
      1. Heat a convection oven to 80°C 2. Remove the liners' insoles, and place the liners on a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray 3. Leave for 15 minutes 4. - Put the hygiene insoles back, put on a pair of ski/snowboard socks, put the liners on your feet and tighten them as you wish. 5. Put the snowboard boots on and tighten well 5. Wait for 15 minutes, without moving. Repeat as often as you like.
    6. 2. Comfort Heel Pad ankle foam
Ankle foam fills the hollow below and behind the ankle to wedge the heel in well. The level 1 liner has 10-mm thick, single material, quite soft ankle foam. The aim is to provide the right heel/foot support for the type of boot. Because the faster you go, the greater the energy involved, and the more foot support you need. Comfort foam meets this objective, by providing optimum comfort for everyone.
    7. 3. "3-point" liner fastening
3-point tightening (instead of 4-point) offers 2 big advantages: - support: it blocks the heel very well because there's less lace-related rubbing and a maximum amount of energy is transferred to the 3rd and final tightening point, situated at the ankle for optimum support - warmth: because there’s no 4th tightening point at the instep, the blood flows more easily to the toes. This keeps your toes warm.
    8. 4. Hook & Loop Link between the liner and boot,
We've added a rip-tab at the back between the liner and the boot. The aim? To help prevent the liner from slipping inside the boot, so it's easier to steer the board, because simply holding the foot well in the boot is not enough: if the liner moves in your boot, you will not steer your board as effectively.
    9. 5. Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep
We have added a 2nd thickness of foam on the tongue, at the instep, for 2 reasons: - to help wedge the foot at the bottom of the liner - to increase comfort by preventing the lace from cutting off blood circulation in this high-tension area
    10. Insole
This boot has a flat insole. It offers comfort and thermal insulation. If you feel you need to maintain your foot more securely in the boot, you have two options: - get a sole with a pre-formed foot arch and heel - get a sole that is thermoformed to suit your foot. This is the most efficient solution.
    11. Outsole: traction, grip, cushioning and thermal insulation
Our Ultralight sole is 100% EVA. EVA is a very light material (80% air). This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is a very good natural insulator and protects from the cold rising from the ground. We have designed large studs for superior traction. They are spaced quite far apart to prevent snow from getting stuck.
