This bike arrived today faulty. No phone number on website. Eventually found a number, wouldn't talk to me, was told to email. Still waiting! Shocking customer service! Avoid if you want any customer care after an online purchase.

I'm struggling with the Tektro calipers lock device. I've just recently taken the front wheel off and now cannot fix the brakes back in place due to the 'lock device'. Far more complicated than the Shimano calipers on my race bike! I'd appreciate some help on how to lock the brakes back into position as I can't currently ride the bike. Thanks.
    Response of the brand
    Hello,
Thank you for your question regarding the brakes. One of the team is going to email you a short demonstration film.

I bought this bike in March 2018 from the Sheffield store after a lot of thought.

Luke, from the cycle section went the extra mile with fitting me to the correct sized frame. I'm only 5'8" but with a different stem fitted by Luke, I found a large frame felt very comfortable .

I was a bit unsure about having gear levers as part of the brake levers. My concerns were unfounded. I got used to them on my first ride out.

Not all the components are 105. The  chainrigs are Shimano RS series for example. I have to say that I cannot tell any difference at all when out on it.  The thing that surprised me most was how very smooth the gear changing feels. Others have spoke about changing cassettes. I honestly felt no need to even think about this. I'm happy with it just as it is, especially climbing hills.

It is a pleasure to ride. After riding my full 105 flat bar for two & half years, I did not realise just how much extra power I could achieve from getting down in the grips of the Triban 540. I feel this year will see me riding further. The 2nd mounting point for a bottle cage is very useful. The brakes are very quiet too.

I feel this bike is good value, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a new road bike of this spec.

  • Just brilliant. Can't be beaten for the money.

Used for 3 to 6 months
Needed a bike to get fit on. I've got a big ride in a few months and my old bike wasn't up to the task. Have used the bike January to April 2018 in all weather conditions but never had any problems with gears or brakes. I did change the seat for my old one (Charge Spoon) the tyres for Conti 4 seasons 28s, the stem to an 90mm +3° rise, and the cassette to 105 11-32, as I'm lazy, i like comfort and know how to set a bike up for me. All these were personal preferences and apart from the tyres (which after previous reports, I wasn't going to take a chance on) were perfectly good. It is a very comfortable bike. I have a dodgy back and am able to complete 70 miles rides in about 4.5 hours on flattish ground with ease. The paint looks quite thin but hasn't scratched yet. I might change the calipers for 105 items as it would be nice if they matched the rest of the groupset, and may give better stopping power (i'm way over 100KG). I'm 6'2" with a 33" inside leg and Size L feels perfect. The service at Warrington Decathlon was brilliant. I went in at lunchtime on a Saturday and was looked after straight away. In short just buy one, you will not be disappointed.
