    Product feature
    1. Hybrid construction
Combination of a strong and protective fabric (147 g/m2; 70 denier) on areas to be protected from friction (shoulders, outer arms, front and back hem) and a light and breathable fabric (109 g/sqm; 20 denier) elsewhere. Back 2 cm longer than the front to ensure maximum protection and to cover the thermal layer 2 underneath if necessary.
    2. Hood
Completely adjustable hood height and depth. Semi-rigid visor with integrated mesh headband to provide a high level of protection and support. The high stand-up collar effectively protects the lower face.
    3. Pockets
2 hand pockets that remain accessible even when carrying a backpack and a YKK AquaGuard waterproof zip. There is a mesh mobile phone pocket inside the right pocket.
    4. Front zip
Features a waterproof YKK AquaGuard zip along the entire length with an inside flap providing protection from the wind. Folded underflap at the hem for easily fastening of the zip. Double slider allowing opening from the bottom of the jacket. Soft fabric flap at the top of the collar to protect the chin.
    5. Protection
Double tightening with an elastic cord and toggle at the hem. Velcro-adjustable sleeves covering the wrist. The gusset on the wrist makes it easy to wear gloves with the jacket.
    6. Water resistance of the fabric
We test a fabric's resistance to water pressure by measuring the height of a column of water supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The better the fabric resists pressure, the more waterproof it is. Here are the waterproofing values of the Trek 500 jacket: 25 000 mm before washing for the lightest fabric (11 000 mm after 5 washes) 20 000 mm before washing for the most durable fabric (17 000 mm after 5 washes
    7. Water resistance of the jacket
The water resistance of the jacket was tested under rainfall of 450 litres of water/m²/hour for 4 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a thunderstorm in the mountains.
    8. Breathability of the fabric
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. It is considered that if: * RET < 9 = very breathable fabric * 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric. Here are the breathability values of the Trek 500 jacket: RET < 8 for the lightest fabric RET < 12 for the most resistant fabric
    9. How to restore the water repellent properties?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water, and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. In order to reactivate it, follow the guide: https://www.quechua.fr/conseils/comment-reactiver-la-deperlance-de-sa-veste-a_86425
