    Product feature
    1. Contents
1 pair of brake pads 1 spring metal pin not included
    2. Wearing in your brake pads: essential before starting your ride
You will need to do several short, sharp stops on a flat, clear surface. Squeeze the brakes hard briefly 10 times, and repeat for three or four sets, to wear in your brakes. Braking sharply will wear the pad slightly. Wait about 30 seconds between sets of braking so that the temperature of your brakes will drop back down before you do a new set of 10 squeezes
    3. Watch out for glazing
If the problem persists despite doing this short, sharp braking, take some sandpaper and lightly sand your brake pads.

    • Good, not great

      Praveen (India)
Used for More than 1 year
I've used these replacement brake pads multiple times for my MTB (Rockrider 500). I've found the following positives and negatives:
      1. Cost
      2. Braking is as effective as with the original pads that come factory fitted
      1. The friction material is very thin and does not last very long (as a comparison, the factory fitted pads lasted ~ 10,000 Km whereas these last only about 1500 - 2000 Km)
      2. The pad, when worn out, fades out completely very abruptly. This could be rather dangerous. I lost braking on the front brake, very fortunately, when running errands close to home. I had done a Nandi ride just the previous weekend and it could have proved catastrophic if it had happened then.
      3. There is no replacement split pin to use with the pads. This is a pain point since I need to go to a hardware store to get a new split pin or reuse the old one (which is really not recommended and can be very unsafe - which, by the way, is done by the Decathlon store mechanics themselves, since they do not have replacement split pins)
    • Perfect for Tektro Auriga brakes.

Used on Specialised Rock hopper to replace original Tektro pads. Working great on my hydraulic discs. These get hard use as I also use the bike to commute with some heavy downhill sections.
