  5. Impermeability of the component
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A component with a 2,000 mm impermeability thus resisting to a pressure of 2,000 mm of water (which corresponds roughly to a downpour of 2 hours).
  6. Impermeability of the jacket
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/h for 2 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a shower in winter.
  7. Suggested complementary products
Care products: spray or liquid water-repellent treatment in the washing machine. To regenerate the water repellency of the fabric and optimize the performance of your garment throughout its life, we recommend the use of these products at least for each wash.
  8. A score to compare the products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product has been calculated based on the life cycle of the product and with different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach. For more information:
  9. Component water repellent property
A fabric is water-repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be restored throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.
  10. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
  11. Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
  12. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more information visit:

Can't comment on durability as I've only had it for a month, but it's been wonderful so far and people commented on how good it looks. The only problem I'd point out is the pockets: they are not so big and there aren't so many of them!
