    • An excellent city bike, great value

      Lee (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I've used my Elops 500 for a short commute over the past few weeks and have found it to be comfortable, reliable and easy to ride. It's a bit on the heavy side but I'm not climbing MTB routes, just on urban streets and cycle paths. It's really good value and I'm looking forward to taking it further afield on my days off.
    • Fun to ride good weather city bike

      Stefan (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
This is a fun bike to ride, takes corners nicely (I've got the smaller version) and rolls well with fully pumped tires, although this makes you feel every bump. Tweaking saddle and handlebar position can make for quite a comfortable riding position, although I should probably have gone for the larger model, being just between sizes. Downsides are the tires, which, while rolling very well when fully pumped, are somewhat slippery in wet conditions and are hard to handle on ice and snow. Also, I had four flat tires within a few months, while I didn't have any on my previous (stolen) bike with Schwalbe tires for 1 1/2 years on the same route. The position of the rear brake is very odd, being located close to the ground (why?!), collecting dirt and water, which make it to fail completely at freezing temperatures. The same happened to the gear shifter. Sometimes I miss a gear or two when trying to go a bit faster, but it's definitely sufficient for cruising.
    • Excellent town bike

      Ivor (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I have never owned a bike like this before as I have relied on road bikes for commuting and pleasure for the past 15 years. However I needed something decent that I could fit a seat for an older child on to do the school run and to get to the station on afterwards. This is perfect. The build quality and finishing seems excellent for the price. The dynamo and built in lights mean that I don't have to remove them when locked up. The upright riding position is shockingly comfortable after being so used to road bikes. Yes, it is heavy in comparison to what I have been used to, but not so much that it is a problem, and I live at the top of a hill! The rack takes up to 27 kg, which is not as much as the 35 kg racks that are available but still sufficient for carrying my 5 year old on a junior seat. Make sure you pump the tyres to the highest recommended pressure (written on the tyre wall) though. The shop gave it to me at a low pressure and it affects the performance. Overall I am extremely satisfied!
    • Glide

      Andrew (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
sturdy but heavy framed bike to glide around flat areas
    • Love this bike!

It's a great bike for the price. Not the fastest thing I have ever owned, but it's solidly built and great to ride. The built-in lights work fantastically on the dynamo, and the rack at the back is really useful for storing your bag while you cycle. Very happy with my new bike!
