    1. Buying advice
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several styles or sizes if necessary. Check the following two comfort points: the fit of the heel (the heel should not rise, or very little) and the front of the foot when walking downhill (the toes should not touch the front). You should feel no pressure points when trying them on. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots over the course of a few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
    2. Care instructions
Use a brush and/or a sponge to clean the shoe and remove any dirt or mud. Then, air dry away from a heat source. Finish by spraying the upper with a waterproof spray to maintain the water repellent properties and prolong the lifetime of the shoe.
    Product testing
    1. Storage advice
Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place.
    2. Product restrictions
      Not suitable for mountaineering.
    3. Product catchline
The Drifter is a trekking shoe that combines a steady suede/nylon construction with low weight (610g per shoe in size 8). Its Gore-Tex membrane provides good waterproofing.

    • Most uncomfortable boot ever bought

      Sanford (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
I have had 2 pairs of boots in the last 15 years. Raichle and Mammut who took over from them.
Both were so comfortable however the soles were not great.
I never had to wear them in and could walk 10 miles in the straight out of the box.
I bought these Asolo last week and after 1 mile I wanted to throw them away. After 7 miles my ankles are sore and bruised. These boots have no padding at all. Biggest waste of money.
      Response of the brand
Thanks for your feedback on the Asolo Drifter hiking boot. I regret to hear that you have not been completely satisfied with the boot and will pass on your comments to the Quechua team to discuss with the external supplier Asolo. If you remain dissatisfied with the boot, please get in touch with our online team ( or drop into your local store where we can find the best solution for you. We have recently released our new Forclaz Trek 900 boot ( and would recommend trying them on if you are considering a replacement.

    • Comfortable but poor soles

      Eric (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 2 years
Most reviews submitted shortly after purchase. I would have rated high at that time; but 3 years later and only with moderate use (alternating with other boots) am disappointed with sole wearing and bonding. Don't expect boots to last for ever, but these are wearing worse than cheaper ones.
      Response of the brand

      Hello Eric
I'm terribly sorry to hear about the poor durability of the soles on the Asolo Drifter.  Unfortunately i cannot comment further because Asolo is an independent company and not one of Decathlon's Passion Brands (for example; Quechua). I will however, strongly recommend you contact Asolo directly to inform them of the situation, they can be contacted by emailing
