    Product feature
    1. What size should you choose?
For hiking, don't hesitate to try one size above your usual size for maximum comfort in descents and to prevent your toes from touching the front of the boot. Advice: keep your toenails short and, before descending, check that your lacing will prevent your foot from sliding towards the front of the shoe.
    2. CrossContact sole
We designed the sole based on long research at our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to offer the best compromise between grip and traction. The design of the Arpenaz 500 sole has grip rather than traction. Traction: means not slipping on soft ground (wet or dry). Grip: means not slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).
    3. Buying tips
Try on both shoes, while standing, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several styles or sizes if necessary. Check the following two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going downhill. There should be no pressure points when you try them on. Feel free to walk around the store. Wear in your boots gradually during the first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.

    • Nice shoe

      Tony (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I'm taking on a 12 mile hike and wanted something a bit more robust than a trainer but not a full on walking boot. These shoes are canny. My only complaint is the sizes, I'm a size 10 but they only come in "half" sizes ie 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 etc. So being a size 10 the shoe is a fraction too long, but never the less still comfortable and easy to walk in.
I've only done a couple of 4 mile walks in them but had no sore areas so overall quite impressed.
    • Good shoes, light, robust, run a bit large

      Matthew (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I normally size up a size for walking and running shoes, but I shouldn't have with these. Not a disaster, but if you're after a walking shoe and think you may need to size up to avoid squeezing in a cushioned sock, you probably don't. They're lightweight, comfortable, they seem to be robust and they're a good price.
    • Excellent dude

      Owain Hunt (United Kingdom)

Ideal approach shoes and for everyday use. Definitely buy again.

    • Fine for the price

      Dominic (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
Fine for the price, last well for around 6 months then the footbeds wear out & damage appears.
The grip is very very poor from the off unfortunately - definitely let's the shoe down.
