Details
Product feature
  1. Speed function
Current speed. Average ride speed. Maximum ride speed.
  2. Distance function
Ride distance (distance covered on that ride). Total distance (since you installed the cyclometer).
  3. Time function
    Time. Stopwatch (automatic start/stop).
  4. Other functions
Temperature. Back-lit screen (for lighting it up at night). Automatic start/stop.
  5. Magnet-free sensor
Innovative sensor that mounts on the wheel's hub. The sensor uses a gyroscope to detect your speed and therefore doesn't use a magnet (so you don't have to adjust the distance between the magnet and sensor). It's therefore really easy, fast and reliable to install. 2.4 gHz digital transmission. No interference possible. Communicates with the cyclometer over up to 3 metres. You can therefore mount it on the rear wheel and use it with a turbo trainer.
  6. Batteries
CR2032 (1 in the cyclometer + 1 in the sensor).
  7. Dimensions
    Case: Height x width x depth: 63mm x 41mm x 12mm Display: Height x width: 37mm x 26mm
Product testing
  1. Product restrictions
The measure will be less precise on very rough terrains.
  2. Product catchline
Discreet and very easy to install (magnet-free sensor that mounts on the wheel hub): 8 basic functions with wireless transmission at up to 3 metres, allowing mounting on the rear wheel.

On this website there is a link to this product from another review. Great - except there is no stock online or in any UK store.
  • Good computer, rubbish mount.

The wireless hub mounted sensor and the computer itself are great. It's easy to set up and use. The display is big and easy to read. The problem is the Garmin like twist-lock mount. The computer twists in to this and is held by the tiniest of plastic notches. After about a few months use, twisting in and out, my computer was so loose that I lost it mid ride without noticing, never to be found again. A pity as I quite liked it otherwise.

Is my biggest problem what should I set the unit and what should I be aiming for?
  • The easiest to set up computer I've ever used

Hardest part of the installation was reaching through the spokes to mount the sensor on the hub, and even that took all of twenty seconds. Installing the unit itself on the handlebar or stem takes around five seconds. Wheel size is configured using the actual tyre size (e.g. 700x28 in my case) rather than tyre circumference; that's probably going to be a couple percent more inaccurate compared to measured circumference but let's be honest, nobody measures their wheels — everybody just looks up the circumference from tyre size tables supplied with all computers anyway. Setup and pairing with the sensor was straightforward, menus are very clear and self-explanatory, you can easily do without the leaflet.

Now for the couple of gripes I've encountered:
When you stop for a while, the computer goes to sleep and you need to press any button to wake it up. This is all fine, but the sad part is that it does not remember the mode you had previously selected and always resets to the first mode (trip distance).
I've noticed occasional drop outs in the sensor reading. Just as I'm riding and it is showing my speed correctly, all of a sudden it changes straight to a blinking 0.0 km/h and shows that for a few seconds before it starts tracking my actual speed again. Seems to happen mostly when riding over a bumpy road, so it might be a poor contact somewhere inside the head unit or the sensor, might be "expected", I think it is too minor to seek servicing, but still these two issues merit the loss of a star.
