    • Not the best purchase

Bought these for my new Genesis CdA 10 as they were cheaper than the Shimano version. Now, 1000km later the bearings are squeaking with every pedal stroke. Equivalent shimano pedals have done 12,000 km & only now just slightly squeaking.

Seems impossible to access the bearings to regrease them & no info in packaging or online. Lots of online info on how to regrease shimano pedal bearings! Buy cheap, buy twice as they say. Disappointing from Decathlon!
      Response of the brand
      Hello Colin,

Sorry to hear you are not happy with the B'Twin SPD pedals that you recently bought. As you've said, the pedals should 100% last longer than the 1,000km you've done on them. You are more than welcome to exchange them in your local store if you have the receipt or scanned your decathlon card during the purchase.

Whilst these are a cheap entry to SPD pedals, pay a little more as the experience these will give you will put you off cli[less pedals. Once engaged in the pedals, you need to move you foot to a full 90 degrees and yank with all your might to get your feet out of the pedals - this is despite adjusting.

I've been a cyclist for 5+ years and have used SPD's during this time and these are undoubtedly the worst I've used - bordering on dangerous as when you come to a standstill you constantly gamble as to weather or not your foot will unclip and you will fall and damage yourself / bike.

The old adage you buy cheap, you buy twice is apt to these.
      Cheap
      Hard to disengage

      Hello Hayden,

Sorry to hear about the issues you have faced with these pedals. Sometimes they can be quite tricky to get in and out if you are using different cleats to those supplied with the pedals. You are more than welcome to return to your local store for an exchange or refund. Personally I would select the Shimano M520 pedals for the slight price difference.

    • Spd pedals

Never used spd pedals and shoes before so not really an expert. Although they make pedalling at speeds so much easier and comfortable. Feels like your part of the bike not just sitting on it.
Fitting the clips for the shoes which are included and the pedals are easy to fit.
good price compared to the others.
not found any yet after using them for a month.
    • The worst introduction to clipless you could have

Unlike real SPD pedals made by shimano, you can't adjust the difficulty to clip in separately from the ease of unclipping.

There is no float, either, which means that the slightest natural movement of your ankles is enough to unclip your feet. It feels insecure - because it is. It's worse than normal non-clip pedals.

The cleats themselves are coward cleats. Any pull on the pedal and they come loose. This defeats the purpose of attaching your shoe to the pedal in the first place!

There's no instructions either. I expected them to be inside the box but they weren't. They aren't even on the website. On the back of a box is a cartoon of somebody using a spanner on their front wheel. I don't know what that is intended to mean.

I will be taking these back as soon as possible because they are terrible.
      Absolutely nothing
limited adjustability, won't stay clipped in
      Response of the brand
      Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback regarding these pedals. I have forwarded them on to the product manager in charge of pedals. I agree with you that more instructions or a QR code link to set up your cleats and pedals would be useful.
You are correct in saying that there is only one adjustment screw but shimano pedals only have one in order to adjust spring tension.
I appreciate that they are an entry level model and for only £2 more you can purchase the M-520 model: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/m-520-mountain-bike-pedals-black-id_3169982.html

I was probably quite unlucky; had to return this product the next day; the tension adjuster fell apart not to mention cleats were difficult to clip in. Replaced them with Shimano M-520's which only cost £2 more; significant improvement in ease of use and a secure feeling in the pedals.
      Relatively Inexpensive
      Poorly built, easily scratches
