    Product feature
    1. WATERPROOFING
      - Coated fabric - >5000 mm of water pressure. - Fully taped seams. - Adjustable straps. - Bottom of the legs adjustable by rip-tab strips. - Tested under a simulated moderate rain shower (100 L/hr/sqm) for 3 hours
    2. BREATHABILITY
RET <12: very breathable. To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET, (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). It is its ability to allow the water vapour produced by the body during exercise to escape.
    3. RESISTANCE TO WEAR
      - Injected plastic central zip resistant to salt oxidation.
    4. HOW TO REACTIVE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 1: before washing
Close all zips and flaps and remove any parts of the garment that cannot be washed. Also remember to loosen the straps and elastic parts and empty the pockets. Then turn the garment inside out to wash it.
    5. HOW TO REACTIVE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 2: washing
You can wash your jacket on a synthetic cycle at 30° or 40°C with your usual detergent. Do not use fabric conditioner, which could damage the existing performance of the garment, or bleach. Also take care not to bend your jacket too much when you place it in the washing machine and do not overload your machine. Very important: select a thorough rinse or double rinse to completely remove all detergent residue.
    6. HOW TO REACTIVE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 3: drying
Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water repellent treatment. We recommend that you lay your jacket flat on a clothes rack and leave it out to dry in the open. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator. Then place it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it back the right way round. Caution: do not over-dry the garment.
    7. HOW TO REACTIVE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY
If, despite this procedure of washing and thorough rinsing followed by gentle drying in a tumble dryer, the drops of water no longer run off the surface of your jacket, we recommend that you "re-waterproof" it using a waterproofing spray sold in our stores.
    Product testing
    1. Composition
Main fabric : 100.0% Polyamide (PA) Main lining : 100.0% Polyester (PES)
    2. Storage advice
Store in a dry place, but do not leave your garment on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the waterproof membrane or coating.
    3. Cleaning advice
Machine wash your Kostalde Men's waterproof sailing salopettes at 30°C. Turn inside-out and fasten rip-tabs. Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. Line dry if possible. Occasional tumble drying on low for a short period of time will improve the water
    4. Product catchline
These waterproof and breathable salopettes with fully taped seams provide excellent waterproofing against downpours and waves that come over boat decks.

    • Only thing missing is a pocket

      28/12/2017
      Peter (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 1 year
The description says "3-4 half days sailing per year". I must have done 30-50 full days sailing with them since buying them just over a year ago. They're still perfectly waterproof and comfortable, great value. The only thing I would change about them would be to add a pocket.
      Response of the brand
      Hi Peter,

Thanks for the feedback - what a great review! I wish you many more days of happy sailing, and will pass on your feedback to the brand about the pocket.

      Have a great day,
      SHARON

    • Sizing

I phoned the Bolton store to get sizes as there is no size measurement chart on the website. I was told I need an XL to fit 38" waist. On arrival the waist was 42". I bought these as they were described as lightweight. They are bulkier and heavier than my salopettes that I wear as a bosun's mate crewing tallships across the atlantic. Plus I have to pay for the return postage which is not right as the description and sizing advice was totally wrong. Returned unworn.
      Response of the brand
      Dear Kenneth,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found our sailing salopettes too big and too heavy. After your feedback we are trying to add additional information about men's UK sizing to each trousers to make sure the choice can be made correctly. Current size system for this model is more for the height then waist as they have elastic strap in the middle and it is important to have correct leg length. We hope the refund already reached your bank account.
Once again apologies for any inconvenience caused.
      Kind regards,

      KORNEL
