    Product feature
    1. Waterproofing
To face different weather (rain, snow, wind...), the FREE SLIDE 800 has been developed and produced using a special component to prevent water from entering. To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.
    2. Water repellent component
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. The Slide 800 jacket is equipped with water-repellent components that will extend their weather resistance. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.
    3. Membrane
The jacket membrane is a very fine component applied to the inside of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The Novadry membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
    4. Coating treatment
The coating is a waterproof "substance" that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. So you will stay dry and comfortable while hitting the slopes
    5. Taped main seams
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we have improved the watertightness of the SLIDE 800 jacket with taped seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips fixed to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These taped seams are present on the areas most exposed to snow. These are usually located on the shoulders and chest.
    6. Wadding thermal lining
So that skiers feel "neither too hot, nor too cold", the garment must be able to adapt to the body's physical movement and the outside environment. We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used. There are different types of wadding, including standard, technical and siliconized, which all have different properties (for warmth, lightness and suppleness...)
    7. Thermal insulation
The finishing at the end of the sleeves has adjustable velcro fastenings to go on top of or underneath gloves, allowing better water resistance and preventing snow from entering if there’s a snowfall or uncomfortable cold air from getting in. What's more, given that the cold is a source of irritation, Wedze has added a soft fleece chin guard that protects your face to avoid any risk of neck and chin irritation.
    8. Thermal insulation recommendation
Wearing the right kit on the ski slopes In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 3 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your skiing base-layer and your liner jacket must produce and retain warmth. Your ski jacket will protect you from the weather conditions. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.
    9. Breathability
It’s the ski jacket’s ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses technical components and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) preventing condensation inside the garment. SLIDE 800 jacket RET: 12
    10. Windproofing
This is the garment’s resistance to the wind. The fabric is made windproof by adding a coating or a membrane to the inside. When skiing on the slopes or resting on the ski lifts, protect yourself from the wind to prevent chills and make you as comfortable as possible.
    11. Durability
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection. Because sharp skis can sometimes damage or cut the lower parts of ski pants or ski jacket shoulder panels, Wedze has integrated high-performance reinforcements to prevent tearing as much as possible.
    12. Storm cuffs
Your ski jacket features cuffs at the wrists. They prevent unpleasant cold draughts and snow from getting inside in the event of a fall.
    13. Goggle wipe
This insert made of a soft and very absorbent high-tech fabric effectively wipes water drops from your ski goggles without scratching the lenses.
    14. Ski pass pocket
You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly.
    15. Snow skirt
The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press snaps at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from entering during practice and especially in case of falling.
    16. Audio output
The jacket features an Audio output in the inside pocket for passing a hands-free phone kit, audio cable for listening to music, etc.
    17. Care instructions
To optimise your jacket's performance and durability, we advise the following: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care tag carefully.
    18. A mark to compare the environmental footprint of various products
The product's environmental footprint is calculated for its entire life and with various indicators. A score of A, B, C, D or E is made to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of a similar type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). For Decathlon, this initiative to display environmental data is a priority. Video explanation: https://youtu.be/8t63KkRwn_8 sustainability.decathlon.com
