    Product feature
    1. Frame
Our new BTWIN ALUR frame is born from the Evo Vario concept. Aluminium is an ideal choice for obtaining an excellent propulsion / comfort ratio. The differentiated-thickness tubes considerably reduce the weight and ensure excellent behaviour on all terrain, even very uneven surfaces. It has been designed to be aerodynamic, the cabling is integrated into the frame and the rear brake is positioned under the chainstay. This frame is UCI-approved. Gross weight: 1400 g in size M.
    2. Fork/suspension
Our new BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario fork is mounted exclusively on the BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario frame. The combination of carbon and aluminium offers ideal synergy between the BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario frame and fork. We have achieved a filtering effect on very uneven terrain such as cobblestones. Aerodynamic design with brake located as close as possible to the fork. Total (gross) weight: 550 g in size L
    3. Drive train
The compact Shimano 105 groupset is sturdy and precise, and the most versatile in the Shimano range. Suitable for all riders. 11 speeds.
    4. Brakes
Shimano 105 Direct Mount brakes: their double pivot technology brings precision and power, the centring is still perfect thanks to the DPB technology, and they are made from cast aluminium and covered with powder paint that stands up to frequent washing.
    5. Crankset / cassette
the bottom bracket has been developed by the BTWIN engineering department. It uses a press fit 86 standard mount which significantly lowers the whole crank bracket. This makes pedalling more responsive. The 50-tooth large chainring and 34-tooth small one allow you to ride up any slope. The entire crank / chainring weighs 770 grams, a record for a bike of this type. SHIMANO TIAGRA 10-speed 12/28 cassette; 12/13/14/15/17/19/21/23/25/28.
    6. Handlebar / stem / steering
Btwin 6061-T6 aluminium, compact handlebar, designed specifically for this bike's size. Its compact shape, commonly used in pelotons these days, allows you to place your hands at the bottom of the handlebar without any discomfort. The handlebar weighs 320 g in size 420 mm. The 6061-T6 aluminium stem is also specifically designed for this bike's size, and weighs 140 g in size 110 mm. The steering uses sealed, long-life bearings, with a diameter of 1"1/8 at the top and 1"1/4 at the bottom.
    7. Wheels
The wheels were developed by BTWIN's engineering department. This pair of wheels is designed for use on all terrain, with 20 spokes at the front and 24 at the rear. The rim is 28 mm high with a very versatile profile. The hubs are fitted with long-life cartridge bearings. The wheels weigh only 1790 grams per pair. This wheel is used by the BTWIN U19 RACING team in training and competition.
    8. Tyres
Hutchinson Equinox — an excellent tyre for fast-paced training rides. Weighing 290 g, it is equipped with steel beads, bi-material rubber, and a tread that is harder than the sidewalls mounted on a 66TPI body.
    9. Saddle / seat post
BTWIN Comp saddle, chosen for its versatility. Weighs 300 grammes. Aluminium head and seat post. Weighs 280 grammes.
    10. Pedals
Wide body for more efficient transmission of pedalling power. No-maintenance, sealed cartridge bearings. Its shape allows the cleats to be easily adjusted. Cleat tension adjustment depending on use: hard for powerful riders or soft for beginners. Weight: 230 g per pair, comes with cleats

    • Ultra 700 AF Road bike, first decent bike have had

      Phil (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bought my old bike 3 years ago just to keep fit, but had punctures often. So I decided to invest in a decent bike, after researching this seemed the best value, couldn't justify spending £1050 on the AF 720 to my wife and didn't want a carbon frame, after a month and around 400 miles with no punctures, love it, so much easier going uphill than my old muddyfox glide, the gears make such a difference.
Good chain set, nice and light and smooth
      None so far
    • Bike is great!

The bike is great, good spec, light enough and plenty for what I need it for.

The decathlon staff were useless though, I was using the cycle to work scheme so got a quote for that. They managed to calculate the total wrong so it was out by 30p. They also put the wrong size down for the reservation, when I received my voucher to check if the bike was in stock they said the reservation was on a medium but they had a large in stock so would just switch it across.

When I went into the store they brought the medium out so I questioned it and it turned out that someone else must have reserved the medium again thinking it wasn't reserved in the first place so I had 2 bikes sitting there with my name on them, not really an issue though.

Then it came to paying and because they were out by 30p they expected me to make up the difference, which I was happy enough to do (probably shouldn't have been with it being their mistake!), except all I had was my card and there was a minimum payment and no one seemed to know what this minimum payment value is for card... eventually after holding up the line at the tills for ages (because they only seem to have 1 member of staff capable of being on tills) the manager (or at least someone who seemed to have the slightest clue ) came across and just said to add a chocolate bar and discount the rest so that it comes to the right value so it can go through the tills without me having to pay.

Got the bike home and realised the gears hadn't been indexed properly so had to do that myself and set up the rest of the bike myself.

Ended up getting rear ended by my friend on the first ride out!, so rear wheel needs trued, rear derailleur needs bent back into alignment and need new cables. Not the best of luck but I'll be going to my local bike shop to get it fixed, not letting them get their hands on it!

So yeah good product, terrible service.
      Good product
      Terrible customer service and setup
      Response of the brand
      Dear Sir,
I'm sorry that the size was not reserved correctly, the amounted quoted was incorrect and that the gears were not set up correctly.
Could you kindly reply to me with the name of the store to which this incident concerns as I need to discuss it with them.
Once again please accept apology for the issues you encountered which in this instance seem to have fallen below our expected standards.

Arrived promptly and looks amazing, Smooth gear shifting and the 25mm tires make it more comfortable than my old bike. Even came with free lights.
      Looks, Ride Comfort
Came with different pedals than shown in the video
    • excellent ride

Brought this cycle today and watched 'Baran' (think that's how his name is spelt)(mechanic from Hungary)do the checks..had very informative chat while he worked..
cycled from store to my home which is almost 10 miles and found the ride comfortable ..nice and light compared to my other racing cycle...(steel frame)
changing the pedal to my own pair I already have and when the tyres wear out I will change them from my other racer..(less chance of punctures).
also changing the bar tape to a even better quality one which is satin black(not keen on the lime green bar tape reflection on the cycle)
crossing London around lunch time is a feat in itself, with a new bike I actually enjoyed most of it..(beware giant pot holes)certainly feel quite energetic after as opposed to riding a steel frame cycle..
good purchase and a few laps of the huge store to make a saddle adjustment and brake adjustment and i was away..

I did a lot of research then read the reviews, one from cycle weekly and another from bike radar(I think was). I own five cycle now two treks and bike radar have spot on reviews.. so I stopped a cyclist in london who was riding a 700 ultra and got his opinion which finally cemented the deal..

you do get a lot of bike for your money...which is a surprise these days.

mechanic who i spoke too was honest and helpful ..and came across as interested in the many questions I had..

    • Superb

      Callum (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Having had the bike a number of weeks and done a number of long rides feel can give a fair review.

Having upgrade from fairly low spec roadbike the difference was always going to be noticeable, however, the bike has far surpassed my expectations. Feels effortless to ride, particularly due to the 105 gear set, just makes moving through the gears on a climb easy.

105 brakes and are also brilliant and very responsive (worked great for the occasion emergency stop when a dogs run across cycle path). Would say that the rear brake looks like could be tad tricky to maintain, but more something to adapt to than actual issue.

Frame, has felt right mix between light weight and responsive whilst also being able to take the odd hit from potholes etc. Have been riding the ride largely on the road/paved cycle tracks, however, on the odd occasion where I've got a bit lost and ended up on gravel cycle tracks its been grand still.

The lights that came with the bike are fairly redundant in terms of brightness and visibility, but as free really not something I'm worried about.

Will try update after few more 100kms
Light, Great spec, responsive, looks great!
