    Product feature
    1. The purpose of a base layer
During your intensive training sessions, your body produces heat and perspiration. If you do not wear a suitable base layer when cycling, moisture management will be very difficult, preventing your body from regulating its temperature. This will make your skin feel sticky and cold as you cycle.
    2. Product warmth
Ability of a product to offer protection from the cold.It depends on the material's thermal resistance and air permeability. The higher the thermal resistance, the more the product keeps the heat produced by the body while cycling.
    3. Care tips
Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Use minimal laundry detergent. Do not add softener. Line dry in a warm, ventilated area. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.
    4. Product tests
Our team of product designers based at the B'Twin Village in Lille is continuously working to make cycling more comfortable for our users. Our obsession is to create products that meet the specific cycling needs of our users so as to eliminate things that get in the way of their rides. We then test our products in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting them to real world conditions, like the ones you experience on your bike, can we continuously improve our products.

    • Aerofit 920 Membrane long sleeve base layer

      Melvyn (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This base layer is unlike any other base layer I have ever used. It certainly keeps out the cold and wind so in that respect is very good but unfortunately it has shrunk in the wash. My washing machine is always used on a cool setting so it cannot be the temperature at fault here so I have started with a size Large and ended up with a very small - good job the material is stretchy. However the garment does perform well and I am thinking that I might purchase another size XXXL.
Keeps out the cold and is stretchy
      Has shrunk in the wash
    • Great performance, great value

      Yu Ming (United Kingdom)

This baselayer and a windproof jersey (Castelli Gabba) keep me toasty but non-sweaty down to almost 0 degrees C. Really good quality garment with a good race-cut, venting in the right places and windproof panels in the right places. £24 is expensive by Decathlon standards, but still good value for money compared to everywhere else. I couldn't find another baselayer with the same features for anywhere near this price.
      Fit, warmth, windproofing, price
    • Shame the hospital cut it off

      Kate (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Had to buy a mans top as couldn't find a woman's. Doesn't bother me though as the top is goiod snug fit. Nice top with excellent thermal and wicking properties.
Sleeves were a little short and kept riding up a little.
Only wore mine the once as ended up in hospital and they had to cut it off.
    • Best winter baselayer on the market

      Steve (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
This may seem a bit of a niche product, however, I'm a massive fan of windproof baselayers under jersey/jacket, rather than sticking on a gilet. I have this, and the l/s & s/s Craft Windproof Baselayers, and I reach for the bTwin everytime.

This is an absolutely brilliant product. I've worn it in deep winter when it's freezing, and it's that versatile I've worn it racing under my skinsuit in spring. It keeps the wind of your chest, yet manages heat well enough regardless of the tempo you're riding at. It's tight, but not restrictive as has been suggested in other reviews, and I'm fairly stocky.

Would love to see a shortsleeve version to extend it well into the spring.
      Fit, practicality
    • Seems well made but very snug

      Colin (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Always seem to have a problem with Decathlon sizing on cycle wear. Thought a medium size would be fine (I usually buy small) but even that is a bit too snug. Annoyingly the sleeves tend to ride up and you have to really stretch them out before putting on to try and avoid this. Would recommend them with a caveat about the sizing.
Warm and feels like good quality
Bit snug, even the medium size. Sleeves ride up
