    Product feature
    1. Why windproof?
When cycling, your speed greatly increases the sensation of cold. An outdoor temperature of 10°C will feel like 7°C when cycling at 25 km/h. A windproof barrier helps prevent air from entering the garment and thus reduces the loss of heat.
    2. Product tests
Our team of product designers is based at the B'Twin Village in Lille (France). All year round, we conceive and develop new products that are easy to use, look great, and have the technical features needed for your cycling experiences. They are then mercilessly put to the test by users in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting our products to real world conditions, such as the ones you will experience on your bike, can we continuously improve them.
    3. Care tips
Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Use minimal laundry detergent. Do not add softener. Line dry in a warm, ventilated area. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.
    4. Breathability
To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance (test based on standard ISO 11092). The lower its resistance, the more the fabric will let water vapour produced by the body escape, and therefore the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric.
    5. Water repellency
Waterproofness is a fabric's ability to prevent rain water from passing through. A fabric's water repellency is its ability to make water bead and/or run along its surface. The garment soaks up little or no moisture, dries more quickly, and doesn't become heavier. Water repellency can also make it more difficult for its outer surface to become dirty. Water repellency is obtained by applying a treatment to the fabric's external surface.
    6. A rating to compare products' environmental impact.
A product's environmental impact is calculated for its entire life cycle using various indicators. Products are then given an ABCDE rating to help you easily identify products having the best environmental performance (lowest impact) by comparing different products of the same type (T-shirts, bottoms, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon voluntarily chooses to display the environmental ratings of its products. • Excellent lightweight top for cooler conditions

      Sideburnz (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I was going to buy a cycling jacket, but decided I would probably end up overheating, so decided to use this gilet as a layer instead. I am very glad I did. This takes the edge off of the cold and wet mornings without causing me to overheat, and this has now become one of my most essential cycling articles of clothing. It packs up very small which will be great in the warmer months. This white is a nice colour too, though it would be even better if there were more reflective patches, or if the material itself could be more reflective.
Gives a nice amount of weather protection
      Could be more reflective?
    • Sizing

      Richard (United Kingdom)

Purely a review on sizing this. I'd read reviews on this being a very tight fit, so ordered up a size from normal online. It was like a tent on me. Ended up changing in store for two sizes smaller. It's the usual (obvious?) horses for courses. Want it proper road fit? Order your normal size, leaning towards the lower end. Want it flapping around like a granny's bingo wings? Go up a size.

Excellent gilet that packs down to virtually nothing. Makes it a no brainer for bringing out on early starts or where it could be cold at the top, plus keeping in your backpack for commuting. Mine did me proud for 3 years until I sadly dropped it out of my jersey pocket while going down the Col du Tirini. I've just come to this site to purchase another one!!! Nice race fit. A fraction of the price of certain other brands, but absolutely no compromise on fit, function, longevity. Its an excellent lightweight gilet.
      Cheap, good fit, lightweight, durable.
